About me and stage space
Since my early days at the Academy of Fine Arts, I’ve been drawn to theatre—first through Greek tragedy, exploring text and mask, and later by discovering classical and contemporary playwrights and attending a wide range of performances.
However, my connection to theatre has always been more rooted in materiality than in words. I’m drawn to the possibility of intervening in space, transforming the chaos of materials and forms into a visual arrangement capable of narrating, suggesting, and communicating.
I began designing and creating sets and costumes as a self-taught artist, collaborating with amateur theatre groups. Over time, I decided to deepen my training and attended the set design workshops at Teatro Colón—part of a lifelong learning journey.
Today, I continue to explore expressive possibilities in the scenic space through visual and textile elements—whether in independent productions or professional contexts such as municipal or national theatres.
I experience each new project as a creative challenge, and in every one, I find joy in contributing my vision to the collective work that makes theatre possible.

The Coronation of Poppea

Designing the costumes for The Coronation of Poppea was both a pleasure and a challenge.
The production, set in Imperial Rome in the 1st century AD during the marriage of Nero and Poppea, led me to revisit the art and clothing of the era.
Sculptural representations of the deities — Cupid, Venus, Fortuna, Virtus, and Mercury — served as a starting point to design their costumes with a theatrical and creative approach. Each design was conceived to enhance the character according to their role in the narrative.

After the initial remote work — research, meetings, and design — each member of the team arrived in Taranto at different times: directors, the conductor, musicians, singers… and I, as the set and costume designer.
It was my first visit to this southern Italian city, so in addition to the rehearsals, costume fittings, and prop-making, I found time to explore the seafront, the bridges, the museums, and many of Taranto’s wonderful corners.
The stage design and costumes were developed in line with the director’s concept. The opera was set in a symbolic and highly dynamic space, and the costumes reimagined and repurposed existing materials from the theatre to achieve an elegant, timeless style, with a deliberately restrained color palette.

The Nutcracker
by Tchaikovsky
Teatro Colón
Higher Institute of Arts of the Teatro Colón
Buenos Aires, Argentina
During my training at the Teatro Colón’s stage design workshops, my design was selected for the Christmas tree featured in the production of The Nutcracker.
We worked as a team to turn that idea into a stage element that became part of the performance.
It was an honour to study and create within the Colón’s workshops —one of the few theatres in the world with its own infrastructure for producing full stage sets.
It’s also worth noting that the theatre designs and produces its own costumes, footwear, and accessories for each production, in a space where tradition, craftsmanship, and artistry are deeply interwoven.
